Carina Leagues Triathlon Club was well represented in the Female and Male age groupers, Open Male and Teams events. The Team of Reece Heald,Oyvind Johanessen and Ryan Isaac won their division easily. Josh Maeder had a 3 minute drafting penalty. |

The Carina Leagues Triathlon Club had its largest field this year in this event. Unfortunately due to algae conditions in Lake Burleigh Griffith, the swim was cancelled and it became a duathlon. Congrats to Ellie on her 2nd place! |

Oyvind Johannessen performed beyond his own high expectations, and also that of his Brisbane coach, to join some elite company in becoming the fourth fastest Norwegian triathlete of all time. |

The Carina Leagues Triathlon Club had 17 members compete across the elite, age group and enticer races at the Luke Harrop Memorial Triathlon in support of club patron, Loretta Harrop. Well done to Ryan, Emma and Ellie who all placed in this event. Julio did not finish due to a flat tire. |

Bribie Island 2006 Race 3 18 Feb 2007 |
Bribie Island once again proves to be a challenge for our Club Members. Reece, completing his first race, decided that the bike leg should have been in the opposite direction! Good one Reece! Whilst Ryan who obviously enjoys riding so much decided that an extra lap was OK! And Julio just didn't follow instructions with regards to removing his bike from transition. I wonder if Warwick is pulling his hair out yet!!!! |

2007 Qld Secondary Schools' Triathlon Championships 9th February |
9 of our junior athletes competed in this event with the aspiration of making the QLD Schools team to compete at the National titles in March in Canberra. Ellie Salthouse, Brad Chittick and Ryan Isaac were all successful in making the team. |

Hell of the West Goondiwindi 4th February 2007 |

6 athletes competed in this event where Josh Maeder won the ITU junior division securing a place in the Australian team travelling to Germany in Sept 2007. First time representatives Travis Gaskin, Ryan Isaacs, Cameron Heald and Brad Chittick did very well and will greatly benefit from the experience. Nick Maeder travelled from Perth to also compete. |

Gatorade 2006 Race 3 Raby Bay 17 Dec 2006 |
The Carina Leagues Triathlon Club had 13 club members compete in the 500 m swim, 20 km bike and 5 km run event and a further 9 members in the 200 m swim, 10 km bike and 2.5 km run event out of the 1300 athletes that participated on the day. Congrats to Lauren & Ellie for their 3rd placings. And a special mention goes to Cam & Brad for competing in the Open division for the first time. |

Well done to Brad who placed 2nd in his category and to Ellie who placed 3rd. Congrats to all who competed. Bribie continues to be our Clubs' nemesis as a few of our athletes again battled with flat tyres and DQ's! Both Andrew and Kevin did an extra leg on the bike - DOH! Lorna and Liz had flat tyres - DOH! Cara crashed - DOH! and Jess did not finish. We look forward to Raby Bay on the 17th. |

This was Carina Leagues Triathlon Clubs largest contingent competing for Met east. All in all 14 athletes qualified for the State Championships in February next year across the 3 separate distances. |

Port Macquarie Half Ironman 4 Nov 2006 |
Paul Barnes was the only member of the club to compete at this event. The weather conditions were terrible but Paul managed to complete the race and was happy with his time. |

Noosa Multi Sport Festival Oct 2006 |
Once again Noosa delivered a great weekend! The athletes, supporters, friends & relatives had a fantastic time! Highlight of the day for the Club was Josh Maeder winning the Open Male age group. The Club had its' largest contingent ever covering age groupers, open cateogory and clydesdales. It was a first for Andrew, Lauren, Liz, Lorna, Travis, Nick, Cam, Scott & Luke. Zutti had to pull out due to illness and Jess finished after the bike due to the same illness. Cam copped another drafting penalty but it was good to see him recover and do an awsome run! Congrats to Travis who gained 2nd place in the 16-19 male age group. Thanks to everyone who made it a weekend to remember - check out the photo page for candid camera shots! |

Another fantastic day for the Carina Leagues Triathlon Club where we had 6 podium finishes. Congrats to Emma and Peter who won their categories, Lauren and Scott for placing 2nd and Lorna and Cara for placing 3rd. A special note also to those athletes who soldiered on after technical difficulties, these including Hannah (lost her timing chip) Ian and Andrew (Timing errors) Cam (3 minute drafting penalty) Lauren (flat tyre) and Liz (Started in wrong wave - another DQ?!?!) |

A big congrats to Josh Maeder who gained 2nd place in the open division and earning him his first prize money! Well done to Michael Willis and Nick Maeder who both were top 10 in Open. Also congrats to Brad Chittick for gaining third place in his age group. Club Members Travis Gaskin, Andrew Stewart, Jess Blake and Brian Zutt completed their first triathlon for the club. It was good to see Cam back racing too! All in all a great start to the season! |
