The Carina Leagues Triathlon Club provides one of the most comprehensive range of facilities of any triathlon club in Queensland at the Clem Jones Centre. This gives us great flexibility in planning training schedules and allows us to cater for any athlete from beginner to professional.
The triathlon club has a purpose built eight person ice bath facility to use after training sessions for club members to recover quicker from training and improve their race performance.
The club has both senior and junior sized bike racks for transition training.
We have three pools which we use regularly in squad training. The 50 metre pool is fully heated and available all year round. We have dedicated lanes for squad swimming.
The club has gone through a process of acquiring hand paddles, drill paddles and pool buoys for the use of its members. This allows us to conduct specific swim sessions concentrating on correct techniques and drill work as well strength swim training.
We are very focused on the recovery process. We consistently complete sessions with water running, wading or ice baths to eliminate soreness and reduce the risk of injury. We have an ice machine which allows us to provide this unique service to our members.
The club has gone through a process of acquiring wind trainers and rollers for the use of its members. This allows us to conduct controlled bike/run sets, again concentrating on correct techniques and drill work.
