Adult Straddie Training Camp 2020

What a fantastic weekend for our adults at their annual triathlon training camp. Like last year, we were hosted by Catherine and Kevie at Watch the Whales, their beautiful North Stradbroke Island holiday accommodation. This year we had some special guests, pro triathletes (and cute couple) Ellie Salthouse and Andrés Chirinos. We were thrilled to have them join us on our training rides and runs, and coach us through an open water skills session. We were also grateful to have Damien Jeffery our Adult Performance Coach there to give us purpose, guidance and great advice.

The program was a little different this year. While there was the usual swim, bike and run focus, we also switched it up and featured a strength and mobility session with exercise physiologist Huw Darnell which all our triathletes found very informative. To help us relax and recover after our hilly rides and runs, we had a calming yoga session led by our very own Emma Duignan. And Cameron’s Normatec birthday boots were a hit as well!

Well done everyone and thank you to all who helped make this such an awesome weekend of club bonding and learning, especially our wonderful hosts. A special thank you to the amazing Catherine for looking after us and keeping us well fed.
